The National Association of Women and the Law (NAWL) is delighted to announce that Suzanne Zaccour (B.C.L, LL.B, LL.M, DPhil), a feminist author, researcher, and public speaker, will be joining our team as Head of Feminist Law Reform.

Suzanne will play an integral role in assisting with the development and implementation of NAWL’s advocacy objectives and law reform strategies, particularly in our three key priority areas: violence against women, reproductive rights, and women & the climate crisis. Among other responsibilities, she will lead the organization’s work to respond to emerging legal developments, while also identifying opportunities for law reform advocacy and strategic interventions.

Suzanne has an extensive academic background having studied at the faculties of Law at McGill University and the University of Toronto, as well as the universities of Cambridge and Oxford. Suzanne’s doctoral research focuses on sexual offences law. In addition to her impressive academic background in law, she is also the author of several books and articles on linguistic sexism, sexual violence, and family law. Her work to date also includes delivering training on inclusive language and sexual assault to schools, law firms, government branches, and other organizations. As an active feminist activist, she has also successfully popularized feminist and legal issues for the general public through numerous interviews, op-eds, and presentations to the media and across educational institutions.

NAWL is excited to have such a strong, committed feminist join our team!
