Intimate partner violence is a crucial topic that affects a lawyer’s practice regardless of their field. This is why NAWL submitted a letter to the Federation of Law Societies of Canada to demand that intimate partner violence education be included in the National Requirement. The National Requirement is a standard that determines whether law school graduates can be admitted to a law society in a Canadian common law province or territory. Our letter was submitted jointly with Luke’s Place.
