En ao\u00fbt 2020, l\u2019ANFD a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nawl.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/NAWL-letter-to-the-Prime-Minister-Minister-of-Justice-on-SCC-nominations.docx.pdf\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">envoy\u00e9 une lettre<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">, appuy\u00e9e par des dizaines d\u2019organisations, au Premier ministre et au ministre de la Justice, pr\u00e9conisant la nomination de femmes et\/ou d\u2019hommes autochtones, noir\u00b7<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s, racis\u00e9\u00b7<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s et\/ou issu\u00b7<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s d\u2019autres communaut\u00e9s en qu\u00eate d\u2019<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00e9galit\u00e9 pour combler les deux postes vacants en Ontario \u00e0 la Cour supr\u00eame. Dans sa r\u00e9ponse de 2020, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nawl.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Letter-from-the-PM-to-Ms.-Beavers-et-al_.pdf\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">le Premier ministre a reconnu<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> que \u00ab\u202fle Canada est fort non pas en d\u00e9pit de nos diff\u00e9rences, mais gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 celles-ci\u202f\u00bb.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">La Cour, et le Canada en entier, b\u00e9n\u00e9ficieront de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience professionnelle de la juge O\u2019Bonsawin, mais aussi de son exp\u00e9rience v\u00e9cue en tant que personne autochtone. Consid\u00e9rant que les populations autochtones sont surrepr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans notre syst\u00e8me de justice p\u00e9nale et qu\u2019elles subissent souvent les effets de la loi de mani\u00e8re unique et in\u00e9gale, il est encourageant de voir qu\u2019une candidate \u00e0 la Cour supr\u00eame poss\u00e8de une expertise sp\u00e9cifique li\u00e9e aux principes de <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Gladue<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Bien que l\u2019ANFD se r\u00e9jouisse d\u2019une plus grande diversit\u00e9 au sein de notre plus haut tribunal, il faut faire davantage pour s\u2019assurer que la magistrature et les institutions judiciaires \u00e0 tous les niveaux repr\u00e9sentent r\u00e9ellement toutes les communaut\u00e9s du Canada.
