NAWL endorses Pharmacare Now
In the wake of the federal election, our coalition of national and provincial organizations is calling on the new government to immediately implement universal, public pharmacare. Our large and diverse coalition represents health care providers, non-profit organizations, unions, workers, seniors, patients and academics from across the country. Within a minority Parliament, co-operation is more important than ever. We are urging all parties to work together in the interest of the population of Canada to ensure that a comprehensive pharmacare plan gets adopted within this government’s mandate. This essential new program should be based on the Pharmacare Consensus Principles, which have been endorsed by more than 80 organizations and which were reflected in the recommendations of the Advisory Council on the Implementation of National Pharmacare. This program should be public, universal, comprehensive, accessible and portable. Canada needs pharmacare now!
